In her book Red Feather, Joan Grant remembers a time in Native American history when the warrioress was honored. This story was the inspiration for the "Warrioress" necklace. She is prepared for battle and there is war paint on her horse. The lines on the front leg means that she has "counted coup" or touched her enemies three times in combat. The hoof-print painted on the back leg means that she has stolen her horse. |
